German Nursing Adaptation Course is an integrated collection of study modules and services intended to develop foreign nurses' core academic, technical and employability skills; provide them with continuous education, training; and place them in high- demand, high-opportunity jobs.

Each module in the curriculum of studies is designed to prepare individuals for the next level of employment and education and provide a credential with labor market value. Altogether, this course is of a  duration of 10 months (1 year)with a key focus on the language modules to attain the proficiency in German language preferably Level  B2 and also inclusive of the Expert Modules like Hygiene, Mental Health, German medical system and quality assurance which makes the students  better prepared for the rapid changes that take place in today's workplace.

  • Enhances your skills to become a Nurse in Germany
  • Focus on the German language classes: You will study an intensive workload of approx. 20 course units / week of German language
  • Classes according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages CEFR -
    • A1 - 100-200 hours
    • A2 - 200-500 hours

Course Description

Expert Module 1:

German medical system and quality assurance (40 guided learning hours)

On completion of this unit,
the student will be able to

-----Explain the importance of quality management and to explore how issues of quality are related to the health and social care services;

-----Introduce concepts of quality management and to apply QM methods and tools;

-----Enable participants to take active part in implementing of quality systems and to make recommendations for improving quality;

-----Present different methods of assessing quality and their application to health and social care;

------ introduce concepts of TQM, business excellence model and sustainable growth;

Expert Module 2:

Mental Health and Wellbeing Nursing (40 guided learning hours)

On completion of this unit,
the student will be able to

-----Discuss how mental disorders/illnesses are classified;

-----Describe the signs and symptoms of commonly experienced mental health problems;

-----Demonstrate knowledge and skills required for assessing people with commonly experienced mental health problems and to undertake a mental status examination;

-----Describe the process of engaging with people who experience distress










Expert Module 3:

Gerontology and Palliative Nursing (40 guided learning hours)

On completion of this unit,
the student will be able to

-----Understand the theory and multidisciplinary perspectives in gerontology;

-----Analyse research and policies on gerontological issues;

-----Demonstrate critical awareness of best practices and interventions that facilitate positive aging;

-----reflect on global experiences of elder persons and apply to a local context.










Expert Module 4:

Infection, prevention and
control (40 guided learning hours)

On completion of this unit,
the student will be able to

-----Explain how infection is caused and spread;

-----Describe the prevention and control of spreading infection;

-----Develop knowledge of relevant infection prevention and control legislation;

-----Recognise the range of occupations their duties and limitations in relative to the control of infection

Intensive German language course:

(A1 – B2, 600 guided learning hours)

-----At the end of the German course, students would have gained a mastery of the language, enabling them to find employment in Germany

-----A1 – 150 learning hours

-----A2 – 150 learning hours aging;

-----B1 – 150 learning hours

-----B2 – 150 learning hours
